Discover Asin Tibuok, an endangered Filipino sea salt nicknamed the "dinosaur egg." Crafted by artisan saltmakers on Bohol Island, coconut husks are soaked in seawater, sun‑dried, then slow‑burned to create charcoal. Fresh seawater is filtered through this charcoal, forming a solid dome of mineral‑rich salt with a distinctive smoky aroma. Each hand‑formed sphere is grated or cracked to release delicate flakes that enhance dishes with savoury depth. Sustainably harvested and honoured by Slow Food’s Ark of Taste, Asin Tibuok is both a culinary treasure and a piece of cultural heritage.
